How to Identify encrypted files or compressed NTFS Files in Windows XP

The following directions may work in other versions of Windows, try it.

Go to: Folder Options

by

Clicking the "Start Menu"

If my documents is pinned to the start menu

Open "My Documents"

• You are now using Windows Explorer

on the "Tools" menu, in the drop down dialogue tab - click "Folder Options"

on the "View" tab in the "Advanced Settings" box,

Scroll down to "Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color"

You should see all the "encrypted or compressed NTFS Files" change.

Click "Apply" and "Ok"
